Every Kia Sportage and KX5 from 2016 to 2020 has that shallow tray in front of the gear lever — the one that holds a phone, a wallet, or nothing at all. This 15W wireless car charger for Kia Sportage KX5 turns that dead space into a charging bay. It is molded to the exact factory contour, drops into the existing opening, and plugs into the vehicle's 12V circuit through a ready-made harness. No drilling. No double-sided tape hanging off the dash. No aftermarket arm blocking your vents.
Pull in, set the phone down, and by the time you reach the office it is topped up.
The charging module inside is Qi certified by the Wireless Power Consortium (Qi-ID 25916), which means it has passed the interoperability tests defined in the Qi wireless power specification and works with other Qi-licensed devices — not just one brand of phone.
Output is 15W maximum, so compatible Android handsets charge at fast speed rather than trickling. iPhones and other Qi devices charge at their own supported rate.
The housing is molded from flame-retardant ABS and PC, matched to the grain and matte black finish of the surrounding console trim. From the driver's seat there is no visible seam, no raised lip, no giveaway that the pad was added later. The unit sits flush at the same height as the original mat, so the lid and surrounding switches still operate exactly as before.
Your factory ports stay free. The 12V / 180W socket, the USB port and the AUX input above the tray remain fully accessible — the pad is shaped around them, not over them.
A finned aluminum heat sink is mounted on the underside of the housing, away from the phone and out of contact with trim. Combined with the flame-retardant ABS/PC shell, it keeps the module operating within its thermal envelope during long drives and continuous charging, instead of throttling down after twenty minutes.
Two slim blue light guides run along the left and right edges of the charging surface, with an additional indicator at the front lip. A soft glow means the pad is live and the phone is charging. No hunting for a tiny LED buried under the phone.

Designed specifically to replace the center console mat in:
Fits vehicles with the standard center console layout shown in the photos, including models with seat heating switches and 12V / USB / AUX cluster above the tray. Left-hand drive and right-hand drive consoles use the same mat position.
If your Sportage is a different model year, check the shape of the tray in front of the gear lever against our photos before ordering — the pad follows the factory contour exactly, so a different tray shape will not accept it.
Will this fit my 2019 Sportage? Yes — the pad is molded for the 2016–2020 Sportage (QL) and KX5 console tray. If your car is outside that range, send us a photo of the tray and we will confirm.
Do I have to take my phone out of its case? Most standard cases up to a few millimeters thick work fine. Cases with metal plates, magnets, card holders or a built-in ring will block or slow charging and should be removed.
Will it block my 12V socket or USB port? No. The pad is shaped around the factory 12V / 180W socket, USB and AUX cluster — all remain usable as before.
Does it get hot? Any wireless charger produces heat; this one uses a finned aluminum heat sink on the underside plus a flame-retardant ABS/PC shell to manage it during continuous charging.
Can I install it myself? Yes. The harness is plug-and-play and the pad locates on the factory tabs — no cutting, no drilling, no permanent modification.
What comes with it? The charging pad and its plug-and-play wiring harness.
Does it charge through the phone's own fast-charge standard? The pad delivers up to 15W over Qi. Your phone will draw whatever it supports up to that limit; some Android handsets reach full 15W, others charge at a lower rate by design.
